As the number of people who play video games grows, so does the need for players to get better at them. Whether you play for fun or to win, there are always ways to get better. In this blog post, we’ll talk about Valorant, a popular first-person shooter game, and give you tips on how to use certain skills better. We’ll talk about ten skills you might be using wrong and how to make the most of them.
Gekko’s Dizzy Ability
The Dizzy ability of Gekko is frequently used to gather information and blind enemies. But a lot of players make the mistake of throwing Dizzy too far and high, where it can’t be picked up again. The strength of this ability is that it can be picked up and used again in just 10 seconds. So, throwing Dizzy in places where it can’t be found is a huge waste of time. Instead, players should throw Dizzy straight up in areas where it can still see the enemies. This gives the player information about where the enemy is and keeps the ability for later use.
Sova’s Drone
One of Sova’s main jobs is to clear close corners, which can be hard when trying to avoid shotguns that are close by. When clearing these corners, players frequently make the mistake of having the drone perform a 360, which can be very inefficient and dangerous. Instead, players can use the drone to look down and fly as far as they can without actually turning. Without slowing down the drone, this enables quick and simple corner checks.
Killjoy’s Turret
Killjoy’s Turret is a free ability that can tell you important things about enemies. Many players, however, position themselves in front of the turret, making contact with the enemy and revealing their presence before the turret can cover it. To prevent this, players should play in cover and peek around the turret’s contact, or recall the turret when pushing and taking up more space. As a general rule, players shouldn’t play the turret in front of the Sentinels’ utility, as it might not be effective. The passive turret sound can, however, occasionally be used as a bait to draw enemies in.
Raze Grenades
The grenades that Raze uses are simple and effective. Many players, though, make the mistake of throwing them at enemies as soon as they see them. Players should throw Raze’s grenades at enemies who are stuck in a small area to get the most out of them. This works especially well on close-range maps like Split, where areas like the Mailroom on B Heaven and the walkout from B main after the attacking team has been walled off are perfect for catching groups of enemies that are close together.
Reyna’s Leer
The Leer ability of Reyna is useful for making enemies blind, but many players use it too aggressively. They throw it out to gather information and end up putting themselves in danger. To use Leer effectively, players should use it as a support tool and then follow up with a teammate to get a kill. It can also be used to trick enemies into thinking the player is pushing hard by making them think they are.
Blaze of Phoenix
You can use Phoenix’s Blaze to block enemies’ lines of sight or make them move. But many players use it in the wrong way or at the wrong time, wasting its potential. Instead, players should use Blaze to isolate a part of the map, make enemies move, or block off a choke point.
Jett’s Dash
Jett’s dash is the next ability on our list. It can be used for both offensive and defensive play. Too many players, though, use it too early or too often, leaving them open to enemy fire. Instead, save it for when you really need it. Use it to get away from danger or quickly change your position during a fight. And remember, you don’t always need to use it to get kills. Sometimes, just using it to stay alive is enough to win a round.
Viper’s Pit
Moving on, we have Viper’s Toxic Screen, which can be used to block off areas or force enemies out of cover. Too many players, though, use it too early or too late in a round, making it useless. The key is to use it at the right time. Use it to block off key areas when your team is pushing or to isolate enemies when they are trying to retake a site. And don’t forget that you don’t always have to use it right away. Sometimes it works even better if you keep it and use it at the right time.
Cypher’s Spy Camera
The last ability is Cypher’s spy camera, which can provide important information to your team. But too many players put it in places that are easy for the enemy to find and destroy. Instead, think outside the box and look for interesting places where the camera can’t be seen. Use it to keep an eye on the flanks or to find out what the enemy is doing. Don’t forget to move it around to confuse the enemy.
While abilities are an important part of Valorant, they can also be misused. You can improve your gameplay and help your team win if you know how to use them well. Remember to talk to your team, be patient, and use your skills when it’s appropriate. With time and practice, you’ll be able to play Valorant like a pro in no time.
