Arion Kurtaj, the teen who is thought to be behind the famous GTA 6 leaks and a series of other related events, is still facing legal trials. On September 18, 2022, a hacker known as “teapotuberhacker” leaked several clips from the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto game and tried to sell source codes for Grand Theft Auto 5.
This shocked the gaming industry. Soon after, it came out that the hacker was a teenage boy from London named Arion Kurtaj.

The hacker was taken to court right away by Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive. But as the investigations went on, more shocking information about Kurtaj’s actions came to light. At the moment, the London court is in charge of him while he waits for his trials.
A Reuters article called “Teen hacked Uber, Revolut, and Grand Theft Auto maker, London court hears” says that Arion Kurtaj, the main suspect in the high-profile GTA 6 leaks, is facing multiple charges from different groups.
The hacker has been charged with 12 crimes, including three cases of blackmail, two cases of fraud, and six charges under the Computer Misuse Act.
Prosecutors say Kurtaj broke into Rockstar Games’ servers and leaked gameplay videos of GTA 6. He also allegedly threatened to make the game’s source codes public, putting the studio in danger.
Psychiatrists have said that Arion Kurtaj is not fit to stand trial, which has slowed down the legal process. According to a Reuters report, Kurtaj’s involvement in the alleged crimes will be decided by the jury in the end, instead of giving an immediate verdict.
Arion, a member of the hacker group “Lapsus$” who is 18 years old, was said to have a 17-year-old partner whose name is being kept secret because of their age.
Together, they have been linked to a number of cybercrime cases involving big companies like Uber, Nvidia, Rockstar Games, BT Group, the City of London Police, and EE Limited, a well-known British mobile network operator and internet service provider.
Kurtaj is accused of breaking into several companies’ restricted domains and leaking sensitive information. His actions have caused companies like Revolut and Uber to lose a lot of money, costing them millions of dollars.
As the legal process goes on, the gaming industry is eagerly waiting for the GTA 6 leaks case to be resolved. They hope that justice will be done and that this will be a strong warning to people who want to commit cybercrime.
