Popular streamer Jeremy “Disguised Toast” Wang has been getting flak for putting together a team of female streamers to play in the VCT Game Changers tournament. Instead of signing a team with only pros, Disguised Toast has backed a team with only women. Kyedae, QuaterJade, Sydeon, and TrulyTenzin are all on this team.

Several content creators have started to back teams in different esports, and Valorant has been a popular choice for them. Disguised Toast started this trend by putting together his DSG squad for the NA Challengers scene and by supporting an all-female squad for the upcoming VCT Game Changers event.

Even though the four female streamers on Disguised Toast’s team are best known for their streaming rather than their professional play, he has defended his decision to sign them by saying that he actively reached out to agents and players when putting together the team. He also said that the female players on his team meet the requirements set by Riot to take part in the tournament, and that they are all taking the event very seriously and grinding like everyone else.

Why Disguised Toast’s Decision to Sign Female Streamers for VCT Game Changers Matters

Disguised Toast has been criticized for choosing to use streamers instead of professional players, but he has also been praised for helping to form a team that serves a market that wasn’t being met. He has said that a pro team would have cost him about $300,000, and he wasn’t ready to spend that much money “on a whim.” He also wanted more time. This made him decide that the team needed a “content approach.

Even though it’s been controversial, it’s important to note that Disguised Toast has put a lot of money into esports by sponsoring a team in the VCT Game Changers tournament. The goal of this tournament is to give more chances to women and other underrepresented groups in esports, and it’s great to see content creators like Disguised Toast support this effort.

Giving female players the chance to compete at a high level is crucial for making the esports scene more diverse and inclusive because men continue to dominate the industry. By supporting a team of female streamers, Disguised Toast is helping to spread these ideas and give women more chances in esports.

Overall, Disguised Toast’s decision to sign a team of female streamers for the VCT Game Changers tournament has gotten some negative feedback, but it’s important to recognize the good things he’s doing for the esports scene. By putting money into a team that represents a market that isn’t well-served, he’s helping to give women and other underserved genders more opportunities in esports and promoting diversity and inclusion in the industry.
