It’s been a while since we’ve got any relevant content relating to Valorant. Well, the new PBE just rolled out, and this time the changes are focused on controllers. Apart from that, quality of life improvements to the store and Premier beta are the other major changes coming in.
Agent Changes
The upcoming patch includes updates for several agents, including Brimstone, Astra, Deadlock, Omen, and Neon. Perhaps one of the most significant changes is related to smokes used by Astra, Brimstone, and Omen.
These agents’ smokes will now have audio and visual cues that signal when they are about to fade. This 1.5-second warning will provide more tactical opportunities for both players and teams.
For Omen, there’s a more significant nerf on the horizon. The famous controller agent’s teleport ability will no longer be able to open Bind’s doors from outside teleporter rooms. This change will impact Omen’s utility and force players to adapt their strategies.
Additionally, Neon, the fiery duelist, is getting a little boost. Neon’s fast lane can now open fractures’ doors when cast from outside, expanding the agent’s tactical options and adding versatility to the game.
Premier Updates
Riot Games is also introducing some exciting updates to the Premier system in Patch 7.08. The most noteworthy change is a reduction in the playoff tournament queue time. Instead of a one-hour window, players now have just 15 minutes to queue up.
If you miss the 15-minute window, your team will not be eligible to participate in the tournament. This change aims to reward teams with better regular season records by providing them with higher seeds in the tournament.
Additionally, the Premier system will match all remaining teams into evenly distributed brackets seated by Premier scores. This adjustment will level the playing field and make Premier tournaments even more competitive.
Store Updates
Players who love to customize their profile will be pleased to know that the store is receiving some updates. Your level borders and player card collection UI are getting an upgrade. With the new grid UI, you’ll have an easier time navigating and equipping level borders and player cards. This will make personalizing your profile easier and more enjoyable.
Apart from this update patch, there have been more leaks regarding the upcoming agent for the next Act. A duelist is confirmed to join the mix, and Riot’s social media has been active in posting hints about what the new duelist is all about.
The last Duelist that Riot introduced to the agent pool was Neon, and it’s been about 2 years since she burst onto the scene.
What are your thoughts on the present state of Valorant? Do you think a Duelist is good enough to bring life back into the game?
