Sentinels won the VCT Americas LCQ tournament with a 2-1 win over 100 Thieves in a very exciting match. This much-anticipated match between two well-known groups captivated the Valorant community, making a lot of noise in the tournament and possibly affecting the losing team’s offseason plans.
While Sentinels celebrated their win and moved on in the tournament, 100 Thieves were in danger of being eliminated. They now have a long offseason ahead of them with no idea what will happen.

At the time this was written, no offseason tournaments had been announced for the region, and the VCT free-agency period would not start until late August, after Valorant Champions ended.

After 100 Thieves lost to Sentinels, the team’s CEO and owner, Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag, took to Twitter to vent his anger. His words were similar to those of most Valorant players.
After the series ended, Nadeshot joined the crowd of people talking about their feelings on Twitter. His posts were subtle, but they got the point across. He posted a photo of himself with a striking red gradient, which reminded him of when the LA Thieves lost at CDL Champs 2023 last month.
Sentinels tweeted after the game, showing a meme of him in the upcoming movie “Oppenheimer.” Nadeshot replied with a meme from the movie “Barbie.” The word “depressed” was put in a funny place above the head of actor Ben Affleck in the picture.
These jokey back-and-forths got the community involved, made the situation more fun, and also hinted at possible changes to the 100 Thieves Valorant lineup.

Even though Nadeshot and the community continue to joke around online, the future of the Valorant team in 100 Thieves is still unknown. This year, the team hasn’t done very well. They did poorly in Valorant Champions, VCT Masters Tokyo, VCT Americas Playoffs, and VCT LOCK//IN, where they were eliminated in the third round.
Even though the CEO hasn’t said anything official about changes to the team, it seems likely that 100 Thieves will look into possible changes in the near future. There are still a few months until the offseason starts, so fans and analysts are eager to hear how the team plans to improve their lineup and get back to being competitive.
