Since its release in 2020, Valorant has had a number of game types, such as Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, Spike Rush, Escalation, and Deathmatch, that let players choose how they want to play.
Many players think of Deathmatch as a must-have mode because it’s a great way to train and get ready for a longer match.
Valorant Community Calls for Deathmatch Changes: Will Riot Listen?
But Valorant‘s Deathmatch has had its fair share of negative comments. Since Deathmatch has mostly stayed the same since it came out, players have been asking for it to be changed.
In a recent Reddit post, players talked about what they didn’t like about the current mode and what they’d like to see changed.
Calls For Deathmatch Rework
One Valorant fan wrote on Reddit, “The deathmatch we currently use for so-called “warmup” is just 12 different idiots spawning in a random map and trying to kill each other in a race for 40 kills with bad spawns and people camping like f**k.”
The post talks about problems like spawn places, slow load times, and gameplay that isn’t interesting.
Several people agreed with what the post said and said what they would like to see changed. One player said that there shouldn’t be a timer in Deathmatch. Instead, players should be able to join and leave whenever they want. They also said there shouldn’t be a kill scoreboard or a mode where you win or lose.
Another player suggested that the Valorant writers take a cue from Valve’s Counter-Strike community servers and add something similar to the game. They thought that without the current restrictions, this would make it easier for players to warm up and exercise.
Episode 7: A Chance for Change
With Episode 7 coming soon, many players are hoping that the Deathmatch mode will finally get the update it needs. But it’s still not clear if the creators will pay attention to what the players say and make the changes they want.
Valorant‘s Deathmatch mode has needed an update for a while now. The community has spoken up, and now it’s up to Riot Games to do something. The ideas that players have come up with are good and could make Deathmatch mode a lot more fun. We can only hope that the changes that players have been asking for will be made in Episode 7.
