The Valorant community has been talking about the VCT LOCK/IN event. Teams from all over the world are competing to see who will win. But the North American teams were quickly put in their place when the Fnatic roster completely destroyed the last North American team, 100 Thieves.
The series got off to a bad start for 100T when they chose Fracture. Fnatic beat up the last strong member of NA’s attack team, and Leo Jannesson (on Fade) did well in his official stage debut after a long time in quarantine.
100T’s Hype Train Derailed by Fnatic’s Experienced Roster at VCT LOCK/IN
They had a strong 11-1 half on the attack, then won the pistol and anti-eco to quickly end map one 13-1 and keep all five 100T players under nine kills each.
Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev showed why he’s one of the best players in the world on Icebox (or any map) by destroying the 100T attack side with aggressive Jett play that went unanswered. 100T tried to make a comeback, but it wasn’t enough. They lost 13–10 and were out of the tournament.
Overall, it was a bad day for both Cryocells and stellar. In their opening duels, they went a combined 4 for 21. 100T is the second North American team to be knocked out by Fnatic in a convincing way. Sentinels were the first team to be knocked out in round one.
Since both NAVI and Fnatic made it to the final of the Omega bracket, an EMEA team will be in the grand final. On Friday, March 3, at 11 a.m. CT, the two strong European teams will play each other.
North America is known for being the best at esports, but the NA teams’ performance at VCT LOCK/IN wasn’t very good. The fact that Fnatic won so easily showed how important teamwork is in esports.
All of the players on Fnatic worked well together, and each player helped the team win. The team had the best communication and coordination, which gave them the edge over their opponents.
100T, on the other hand, had trouble finding their rhythm and lost almost every part of the game. Even though each player on the team was good on their own, they couldn’t work well together, so they had to leave the tournament early.
100 Thieves may be a young and exciting team, but Fnatic won the series because they had more experience and worked better as a group. This shows how well Fnatic did and teaches all teams that want to get into esports that experience is more important than mechanics or anything else.
