Riot Games just announced that the second set of Oni skins for VALORANT will be coming out soon, and it looks like they have a lot in store for their players. The Oni 2.0 collection has more options for the Vandal, Bulldog, Ares, and Frenzy. But the custom firing sound will be unique to this collection, and that’s what makes it stand out.
Riot’s lead cosmetics producer, Preeti Khanolkar, talked more about the new Oni weapon skins in a Reddit thread. This time, the SFX will be better than before.
Khanolkar says that, “Unlike the original Oni, you can hear the guns firing. But it’s not very loud because we wanted it to feel good for people who liked the default sound of the original Oni (so it’s not as loud as, say, Araxys).”
Oni 2.0: The Valorant Skin Bundle That Resurrect Its Predecessor
“Ghostly corrupting echoes” are what the firing sound for the new Oni skins is said to sound like. This new feature can be heard in the two-minute trailer that Riot put out. Even though it may be hard to pick out the audio from the music and other flashy things going on in the trailer, players are encouraged to check it out in full force once the collection is available in the game.
Many Valorant players are glad to see that the Oni 2.0 skin collection now has custom firing sounds. This wasn’t in the original Oni collection, and players have asked for it ever since. Riot has found the perfect balance between giving the new Oni skins more personality and keeping the “aimbot feel” that the original ones had.
Khanolkar also confirmed that the team decided to keep the same extra color options from the first Oni bundle, which were gold/black, pink/mint, and blue/white, so that “fans of the original Oni could add to their collection and have it all look the same.”
The Oni 2.0 skin collection will be available on March 7, when Episode Six, Act Three of Valorant will begin. Players who have some extra cash can now enjoy the Oni 2.0 skin collection’s new features and wider range of options.
With custom firing sounds and the same extra color options as the first Oni bundle, players can add to their collection and make it all look the same while enjoying the improved gameplay that the new Oni skins offer.
I think the Oni bundle was also based on a fan-made idea, just like this previous ION bundle. Riot is known for keeping an eye on fan-made skin ideas and making them come to life. What “2.0” version of a bundle would you like to see next? Leave your thoughts in the comments.
