Hunter “SicK” Mims, a Sentinels Valorant player, was recently arrested for criminal trespassing after an argument at a Ferrari car dealership in Collin County, Texas. Dot Esports says the incident happened on March 3, and in a video that SicK took but has since been deleted, an employee can be heard telling the player to leave his office and the dealership. But SicK wouldn’t leave. On March 4, he was arrested for breaking the law by staying on the property.
At the time of publication, SicK remains in jail and is being held on bond for $5,000. The incident has caused concern among the Valorant community, especially given the player’s history of mental health issues. In May 2022, SicK took time off from the Sentinels Valorant roster due to these issues, and he did not play in the last-chance qualifier for Valorant Champions 2022.
From Online Valorant Drama to Arrest: SicK’s Rollercoaster Ride
Even though SicK went back to streaming and joined Sentinels as a sub during the offseason, he has not played a professional match since May. His posts on social media have also become more random, which makes people worry about his health. It is still too early to tell how his recent arrest will affect his career in the long run.
The Law Office of Andrew Williams says that SicK now faces a big fine or up to 180 days in jail. SicK will also be “internally suspended,” according to Sentinels, and the team is looking for a new sixth player to join the Valorant roster. SicK will also have to complete “training” following his release from jail.
The incident comes on the heels of online drama involving SicK, his former girlfriend, and Sentinels while the player was in Brazil for VCT LOCK/IN. It’s still not clear how this will affect SicK’s standing on the team or if he will still be a part of Sentinels’ plans for the future.
Many people in the Valorant community are worried about SicK, and they hope that he gets the help and support he needs during this hard time. The incident is a stark reminder of how important mental health is and how important it is for professional athletes to put their health first, even when they have a hard and stressful job. The community will definitely be keeping a close eye on SicK as he deals with the aftermath of his recent arrest.
