If you play Valorant a lot, you know how hard it can be to move out of Platinum and into the higher ranks. But don’t worry! In this piece, we’ll give you three tips that will help you improve quickly and move up the ranks in no time.

Climbing the Ranks: 3 Tips to Help You Escape Platinum in Valorant

Before we start, we’d like to give credit to Animalistic, whose guide we’ll be using throughout this piece. Animalistic is a pro Valorant player who has hit the highest level in the game, Radiant.

Tip #1: Learn When to Aggress and When to Play Safe

If you want to get out of Platinum, the first thing you need to do is learn when to be aggressive and when to play it safe. Many players make the mistake of overheating, which means that after getting a couple of kills, they keep pushing forward, only to die and lose the edge they gained.

Instead, after getting those kills, you should move back and help your team by playing numbers. When you play with other people, it’s almost impossible to lose the round.

The second kind of overheating happens when you start playing really well, win a few rounds, get a few Aces, and feel like you can’t lose. This makes you hit everything and die for nothing, which is especially bad for defense.

It’s all about pride and being aware of yourself. Even if you’re playing well, that doesn’t mean you can win every fight, and you certainly shouldn’t swing on everything like a monkey.

On defense, you should only fight aggressively or try to get kills when it’s an Eco round and you have nothing to lose. If the enemy is on eco and you’re on buy, don’t be a monkey and push hard.

If you die and lose your tool, you do nothing but hurt your team’s chances of winning. Instead, keep your back to the attacking team and wait for them to push you. It’s not you who have to push the attackers; it’s the other way around.

You can be a little more bold when you’re on the offensive, but you still have to be smart. Make sure to push with your utility and not just peek around blind spots. Always keep an eye on the economy and alternate economy of your enemy.

If the other team can buy an AWP, you should probably not swing angles. Instead, try to bait them into taking a shot or use your utility to get them to move away.

Also, don’t be boring and always peak the same thing. Make sure you’re always changing how you play, when you’re at your best, and how strongly you play. This will catch the other team off guard, and you’ll win more rounds because they can’t guess what you’re going to do.

Lastly, remember that how aggressive you are should depend on the agent you’re playing and what part you have on your team.

You should always be the most active person on your team if you’re a duelist. If you’re an initiator, you can be the second most active, but if you’re a controller or a sentinel, you should play back and play your life because your utility is very important, especially later in the round.

Make sure you change your play style based on your part so you can get the most out of your agent and their kit.

    Tip #2: Communication is Key

You can’t just run around and expect your team to follow you blindly now that you’re Platinum. If you want to win games and move up in ranks, you have to talk to people. Make sure you’re always talking to your team and telling them where the enemies are, what you’re doing, and what your plan is for the round.

Communication is more than just talking; it also involves listening. Make sure you listen to what your friends say and change the way you play based on what they say. If your team wants to take things slowly, don’t rush in and get yourself killed. If they want to promote a site, make sure you work with them and promote the site together.

Use of callouts is one of the most important things you can do to improve your interactions. Callouts are very important in Valorant because they let you tell your teammates things quickly and correctly. Make sure you know all the callouts for the maps you’re playing, and use them when you see an enemy or want to suggest a plan to your team.

Staying upbeat is another important part of communicating. Even if your team is losing, try to stay upbeat and cheer on the other players. Negative words and toxic behavior can quickly bring down team spirit and lead to a loss. Don’t forget that it’s just a game, and that everyone is doing their best.

    Tip #3: Practice Makes Perfect

The last thing you can do to help you avoid Platinum is to practice, practice, and practice some more. To get better at Valorant, you need to put in the time and effort to improve your skill, game sense, and ability to work with others. Here are some things you can do to get better:

Aim training: Use games like Aim Lab or Deathmatch to improve your aim and your ability to respond quickly.

Watch pro players: You can learn from the gameplay of professional Valorant players and see how they handle different scenarios by watching them.

VOD reviews: Record your gameplay and watch it back to see what you can do better.

Play with higher skilled players : You can learn from their experience and improve your gameplay by playing with people who are better than you.

Play as different agents: Try out different agents to see which ones fit your play style best.

Play different parts: Try out different roles to find the one that fits you best and to learn how each role helps the team.

It’s not easy to get out of Platinum in Valorant, but if you follow these three tips, you’ll be well on your way. Play smart, talk to your team, and practice to improve your gameplay are all important. With time and work, you’ll move up the ranks and get better at the game. Have fun and good luck!
