Welcome to this Valorant guide on how to attack the Pearl spot. This map can be hard for new players because it has a lot of choke points and fighters who can hold their ground if they have the right tools and a good plan. In this guide, we’ll use the “Thinking Man’s Valorant” video on attacking Pearl as a basis to talk about different strategies and tactics that will help you take the site. Let’s dive in!
An Overview at the Choke Points
Before we talk about the different strategies, let’s talk about choke points and what they mean. Choke points are places on the map where defenders can hold their ground and stop attackers from getting ground. On Pearl, the choke points are the places on the map where the fighters are most likely to stay.
The choke points are the B-Mid connector, the A-Mid connector, the A-Long connector, and the B-Long connector. The defenders will use their utility at these points to stop the attackers from getting through. As an attacker, you need to break through those parts of the game and take that space in order to win.
B-Site Attack
Let’s begin with B-SIte. If you have the right plan, though, hitting this site isn’t too hard. On the B-Long side of the map, unlike other sites, there is no choke point, which makes it easy to gain ground.
Since there is no choke point to stop you, one of the possible strategies is to five-man run it down to the B site. Defenders could play behind the box, in the little cubby, or at the back of the site. But once they have a kill, only agents like Chamber and Yoru can get far away from the box and the cubby. If you don’t want to play those agents, it’s best to stay away from those spots.
Once you’ve broken into the site, you can plant the spike and then just hold positions. The defenders will find it hard to regain possession because they don’t have many ways to stop the five-man charge.
Early games on Pearl have shown that this way of hitting the B site can work. The attackers use utility to get rid of the three angles. With fade, you could send a prowler into the cubby, and throw a seize back there. The seize can be combined with a grenade which goes to the back corner of the B site, making it easy to plant and run away.
Mid Attack
The B-Mid connector is a small choke point that can be difficult to get through. As an attacker, you shouldn’t go after the B site from the middle. You can also run to the site and plant the spike, or you can attack A from the middle.
If you want to break through the B-Mid connector, you need the right utility and plan. The small choke point is easy to stop with different tools, and the defenders can even set up one way to stop the attackers.
If you manage to break through the B-Mid connector with more than one player, it will take a long time to get to the B site. At any time, a defense could sneak up behind you and kill you for free. Once you’re down there, it can be hard to get through the small choke point to get to the spot.
A-Site Attack
Because of the choke points, it can be hard to attack the A site. To get past them and take the site, you can employ a variety of strategies.
Split pushing the site is one of the strategies that could work. When you split push, you split the attacking team into two or more groups that attack from different directions at the same time. This approach makes it harder for the defenders to stay put because they have to pay attention to more than one direction at once.
Another good way to clear up the tough spots is to use utility. For example, if the defenders are holding A-Long, you can use smokes and flashes to clear the angles and make it easier to push through. Agents like Sova and KAY/O can also use their skills to find out where enemies are and stop them from using their skills, which makes it easier for the attacking team to move forward.
Coordination and planning are crucial when attacking Pearl. There are several places on the map where defenders can hold their ground and make it hard for attackers to move forward. But with the right tools and strategies, attackers can get through these weak spots and take over the site.
When going after the B site, a five-person team that runs it down can be a good plan. It can be hard to get through the B-Mid connector, so it’s best to use different strategies like splitting the attacking team into multiple groups or attacking A from mid. Using tools like smokes, flashes, and agent skills to clear out the choke points on the A site can make it easier for attackers to take the site.
Remember that practice makes perfect, and it’s important to talk to your team and change your strategies based on where the defenders are and what they’re using. By doing this, you can make it more likely that you can attack Pearl and win the game.
