Overwatch fans have been eagerly waiting for the game’s long-awaited PvE story campaign to come out ever since it was first announced. Now, there’s good news: Overwatch 2’s Executive Producer, Jared Neuss, says that an update to the PvE content will be released “soon.”
As part of the game’s seasonal model, the campaign will be released gradually over the course of 2023, but the exact date is still unknown. But Neuss hinted during a recent Twitch stream with Emongg, Flats, and Seagull that the team is planning when to release the PvE content and that fans won’t have to wait long to find out more.
The Long-Awaited Overwatch 2 PvE Update: Everything You Need to Know
“We’re making plans right now for when we’ll talk about it, which will be soon. And I do mean soon, “Neuss said. When asked about the phrase “Blizzard soon” and whether it might take longer than expected, Neuss said that the update is “Jared soon,” which means it’s closer than fans might think.
Even though there isn’t a set date for the Overwatch 2 PvE campaign to come out, it’s likely that the team will talk more about the Seasonal roadmap for 2023, which Neuss has already hinted at. A release date for the PvE content could be included in this roadmap.
In the meantime, Overwatch 2 in 2023 will still have a lot to offer. The fourth season of the game will feature a new support hero and a new core game mode with the biggest maps yet. The Overwatch 2 story has not been the best so far, but with reports of new game modes, the game appears to be diversifying for the better.
The Overwatch 2 team is clearly working hard to give fans an exciting and interesting game, and the upcoming PvE campaign is sure to be a big part of that. As soon as we hear anything about the release date, we’ll be sure to let you know.
As we wait for more information from the developers, the excitement for Overwatch 2’s PvE story campaign only grows. Fans are looking forward to the release of this much-anticipated feature, but it’s important to remember that adding PvE content to games is not a new trend. It’s clear that the success of PvE parts in games like Destiny and Warframe influenced the people who made Overwatch.
