Overwatch 2 players have been looking forward to Sombra’s long-awaited rework, and the game’s developers have finally told fans when they can expect to see it in action. Sombra has been a problematic hero ever since she was added to the first Overwatch game after it came out.
She has one of the most frustrating kits in the game because she can hide, teleport, and hack into other players’ powers to stop them from using them.
Counting Down to Season 7: Overwatch 2’s Sombra Rework Release Date Teased
Sombra has stayed a deadly force in Sombra team environments despite some adjustments made by the developers over the years, but she has had trouble finding success in Solo – Queue ranked play. But her next rework could change everything.
During a Twitch stream, Jared Neuss, the Executive Producer of Overwatch 2, and Emongg a content creator, talked about the game, new heroes, and plans for the future.
When asked about Sombra, Neuss said that Blizzard has “a lot of cool things going on,” but he made it clear that the rework wouldn’t come out until the end of Season 5.
Neuss said, “Sombra is close by… I think we’re getting close to Season 6.” This means that the updated Sombra will probably come out in Season 7. This is still a long time to wait, though, since the Invasion PvE update won’t come out until August.
Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson suggested in April that Sombra would become “a bit more lethal” but might also experience some escapability drawbacks, though specific details about the rework are still lacking.
Players will need to be patient and wait a few more months to see how big the changes really are.
Fans of Overwatch 2 will be happy to hear that there is a silver leaf. In addition to the Sombra rework, the game will also get a new game mode, a new hero, and a lot of other changes, giving players a lot to do and keeping them interested.
So, Overwatch 2 players who can’t wait for the Sombra rework will have to be patient. The developers have hinted that there will be big changes to make her more dangerous, but the game isn’t out yet. Still, fans can expect a lot of other updates and material in the meantime.
