Just when you thought you knew everything there was to know about Warzone 2, you find out something that could change the way games are played. Metaphor, a Warzone 2 expert, has found a bug in the game’s mechanics: a “super broken” bug with the Throwing Knife that is scary.
With this glitch, players can kill enemies with a single melee attack, or “one-shotting” them, as long as they are still standing.
If you’ve played any of the Warzone games before, you know that guns, especially LMGs and SMGs in the current Season 5, are usually the best way to win. But melee weapons have been famous or infamous at different times in the game’s history.
One Strike, One Victory: The Throwing Knife Dilemma in Warzone 2
When thinking back to the first Warzone, players used to complain that melee weapons were too powerful. Some people said it was better to fight enemies with your hands than with the starter pistol or the first things you find. Because of this feedback, the game was changed in many ways, and the Kali Sticks came into use.
Warzone 2, on the other hand, went a little bit in a different direction. Melee weapons took a back seat, and they no longer ran the show like they used to. But, like all games, it had some problems.
The new Tongfa baton and the much-discussed Kali Sticks were found to be similar by the players. And just when it seemed like the worries about the melee were over, Metaphor brings up this new thing.
Metaphor says that the Throwing Knife bug happens when a player with an SMG and a Throwing Knife goes into melee combat while holding out the SMG. If the enemy is still standing, this move kills them right away.
The bug doesn’t hurt enemies who are crouched or lying down. “It’s completely broken right now,” says Metaphor. It kills in one shot.” He also warns that this could be bad for the game, saying, “The game is going to be ruined if everyone picks this up. It’s really broken, and I hope they fix it soon because if everyone knows about it, the game won’t be playable.”
It’s interesting that Metaphor seems to be the only well-known Warzone content creator who has brought this issue to light so far. It is still not clear how common it is in the game’s ecosystem.
The developers’ silence is also a cause for concern. Neither tweets nor comments on their Trello board show that they are aware of the problem or that a solution is coming soon.
The big question is how long it will take for them to notice this. And even more important, will it change how you play Warzone 2 before a patch fixes it? Just wait and see.
