Call of Duty (CoD) has ruled the first person shooter (FPS) genre for years. With its 20th installment coming out soon, Call of Duty (CoD) maintains its place as the FPS industry leader and continues to bring in billions of dollars every year.
But recently leaked information from a PlayStation document has shown how powerful the CoD franchise really is. Surprisingly, one million players only play CoD.
Leaked PlayStation Intel: 1 Million PlayStation Users Only Play CoD
In the middle of the ongoing legal fight between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft, the attempt to hide confidential information has accidentally led to the release of shocking Call of Duty (CoD) intel. The papers not only gave useful information about Xbox, but also about PlayStation, which is its main rival.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick says that the CoD series has an amazing 70 million daily active users and 100 million new players every month. Six million of these players spend more than 70% of their total game time on CoD, at least on the PlayStation platform.
But what really stands out is the claim that one million PlayStation players spent all of their gaming time on Call of Duty (CoD) in 2021.
The huge effect of the CoD franchise is demonstrated by these numbers. About one million players choose to spend all of their gaming time in the world of COD and give up all other games. To make this point clearer, the average player spent 116 hours a year playing the franchise.

But we shouldn’t forget that these numbers are only true for 2021. Since Vanguard came out in 2022 and Modern Warfare 2 is coming out in 2023, it’s possible that the player info has changed in a big way.
Also, the popularity of Warzone, a battle royale mode in the CoD franchise, may have changed the way people interact with one another.
The current level of interest in CoD among players may tell a very different story. It is still unknown how these numbers have changed over time, despite the fact that the leaked PlayStation data shows CoD’s dominance among its devoted fans.
As we excitedly wait for more news about CoD’s future, it’s clear that the franchise continues to draw in millions of players around the world.
