Anthony ‘Methodz’ Zinni, a professional Call of Duty player, has said that after 11 years of competing, he is leaving the Call of Duty League (CDL). The news was made after the end of Major 2, right after the match between Atlanta FaZe and Toronto Ultra Winners Final.
Methodz got his start in the CDL when he played for the Toronto Ultra in Modern Warfare 2019 and helped them win their first event. He later joined the Boston Breach. For an entire season and a half, he was their main AR. He has played for some of the best Call of Duty teams, like FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming, over the course of his career.
Methodz Leaves the Call of Duty League After 11 Years of Competition
Methodz has been a mainstay in competitive Call of Duty since the game’s early days, and he has kept doing well over the years. Fans have been with him since Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops 2, and they are still with him now. Methodz has said that he won’t leave the Call of Duty community, even though he has stopped playing professionally. Instead, he wants to create content full-time.
In his farewell speech, Methodz thanked the Boston Breach for letting him play for the team and said that they will always be his family. During his time as a pro, he has worked for some of the biggest names in Call of Duty and built a fan base that is second to none.
The end of Methodz’s career in the Call of Duty League marks the end of an era, but it’s clear that his influence and legacy will live on in the Call of Duty community. Fans of the veteran player can expect more content from Methodz now that he is making content full-time.
Methodz’s last show in Major 2 did not go off without a hitch. Methodz’s actions during the game between the Boston Breach and the Seattle Surge made fans and players angry. The ending of the game was controversial because Methodz chose to use a weapon that isn’t usually used in professional play. Methodz stood by his choice, even though it was criticized, because he thought it was the best thing to do at the time.
The incident shows how hard professional Call of Duty players have to work, not only to do well but also to figure out the game’s complicated rules and meta. Methodz’s reputation as a skilled and respected player hasn’t changed because of the controversy.
