It’s time to optimise your settings for the best gaming experience now that Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 has come. In this detailed guide, we’ll show you the best settings to use in Fortnite to increase your FPS, enable colorblind modes, and do a lot more.

Whether you’re a casual player or a competitive gamer, these settings will help you optimise your games and get the most out of the new season.

    Important Changes in Season 3

    Visual Fidelity and Performance

Before we talk about the settings, let’s talk about some big changes that happened in Season 3. There are noticeable differences in visual fidelity and overall performance, even though the real in-game setting options are mainly unchanged.

Especially in the new points of interest (POIs), many players have noticed lower FPS and lower visual quality. It’s important to optimise your settings to fix these problems and make sure you can play games smoothly.

    New Settings in Season 3

    Key Binding for Riding Dinosaurs

Epic Games made it possible to ride dinosaurs in Fortnite this season. But the default key binding for this move might not be the best for some players. To improve your game, you should change the key you use to ride dinosaurs to one that is more comfortable and easy to reach on your computer or controller.

    Disabling Unnecessary Features

If you only want to play Battle Royale, you can turn off features like Fortnite Save the World in the Epic Games Launcher. This will free up system resources and boost performance generally. If your hardware has trouble rendering high-resolution textures easily, you might also want to think about disabling them.

    Enabling “Disable Cosmetic Streaming”

Enable the ” Disable Cosmetic Streaming ” (LOL, I know it’s a funny sentence but let’s just move on) option to further optimise your download. This choice stops the game from constantly streaming cosmetic items during a match, which puts less strain on your system’s resources. It can make a big difference in performance, especially if your FPS drops or your game stutters.

    In-Game Video and Display Settings

    Adjusting Window Mode and Resolution

Now that we’ve talked about the installation options, let’s talk about the video and display settings that you can change while playing. Start by choosing the right window mode, like Fullscreen or Windowed Fullscreen, depending on what you like and what your hardware can do. Next, set your monitor’s original resolution as your resolution. This will give you the best picture quality.

    Vsync and Frame Rate Limit

If your monitor has a high refresh rate, you might want to consider disabling vertical sync (Vsync) to reduce input lag and improve responsiveness. Also, change the maximum frame rate to meet the refresh rate of your monitor or just a bit above it for smoother gameplay.

    Rendering Mode

Try out the DirectX 11, DirectX 12, and Vulkan graphics modes that are available in Fortnite. Depending on your hardware, one of these modes may give you better stability and performance. Test each mode and choose the one with the best mix between FPS and visual quality.

    Performance Mode Options

    3D Resolution

Change the 3D resolution to a level that works for you and your hardware in the performance mode options. Lowering the 3D resolution can improve FPS by a lot, but keep in mind that it may cause a small drop in the quality of what you see.

Textures, Effects, Shadows, Meshes, and View Distance

Depending on what your gear can do, you can tweak the settings for textures, effects, shadows, meshes, and view distance. Be aware of the effect on visual fidelity before lowering these settings, which can provide a noticeable performance boost. Find a good mix so that the game is easy to play and the visuals are still enjoyable.

    Advanced Graphics Settings

    Displaying FPS

To keep track of your system’s performance while you’re playing, enable the display of frames per second (FPS). This information can help you find any possible performance problems or bottlenecks so you can fix them or make other changes as needed.

    Nvidia Reflex

Consider enabling Nvidia Reflex if you have an Nvidia graphics card. This function cuts down on system latency, which makes games more responsive and easier to play. It can be especially helpful for players who are in a competition and need exact and accurate inputs.

    Other Advanced Settings

Explore other advanced settings in Fortnite, such as post-processing effects, anti-aliasing, and motion blur. These settings are personal and based on what you like. Try out different options until you find the one that gives you the best visual experience.

In Season 3, it’s important to optimise your Fortnite settings for a better game experience. By following this guide and making the suggested changes, you can get more FPS, smoother gameplay, and clearer images. Keep in mind that everyone has different tastes, so feel free to try different things to find the settings that work best for your play style and hardware. Keep up with new fixes and updates, as they may make changes or improvements to the game’s settings.

Go out there, rule the Fortnite island, and enjoy an optimised gaming experience in Season 3 now that you have this information!
