Fortnite Pro Tfue Takes a Step Back: The Reasons Behind His Hiatus

Tfue, a former Fortnite pro and famous streamer, recently announced his indefinite hiatus from streaming in a tearful announcement.

Turner Tenney, who goes by the name Tfue, is one of the most well-known creators and players of Fortnite. In the late 2010s, he became an online star because he had a huge following on Twitch.

When Tfue disappeared from social media for almost two months in the summer of 2023, fans were worried. In April, people wrote about his last Instagram posts and Twitch shows.

But he finally came back with an emotional movie called “Goodbye” on YouTube.

In the nearly 40-minute video, Tfue talked about his job as a professional gamer and content creator. He looked upset as he talked about it. He admitted that he felt stuck in his streaming job and needed a break to live his life.

He said, “I used to play games to get away from real life, but now I feel like I use real life to get away from work.” I just sometimes feel like I’m stuck, you know? Streaming for six to eight hours a day has been fcking difficult. I don’t have time to do sh*t.”

At age 25, Tfue said he wanted to spend less time in front of a computer. He admitted that he had spent a lot of his life in front of a computer screen, and while he wouldn’t change that for anything, he did need a break. He said, “I just need to get away for a while.”

The future of Tfue’s streaming business is still hard to predict. It’s not clear if or when he will come back. Nevertheless, regardless of his choice, his friends and fellow creators are supporting him. Streamers like Clix and CouRage congratulated Tfue on his years of work in the gaming business and wished him luck in the future.

Man, what a journey for you. Thanks for being so vulnerable and sharing what you’re truly feeling. Enjoy your time living life how you want. Congrats on an incredible run!

In the world of content production, Tfue’s choice to take an indefinite hiatus is not unusual. Influencers like Marzia Kjellberg and Jenna Marbles have also put their careers on hold in the past to look for new opportunities. It takes a lot of guts to admit that a change is needed and to try to grow as a person in ways other than streaming.

Even though Tfue’s fans will miss him, his choice shows that even internet stars need time to think about themselves and do things that make them happy. Everyone, no matter what they do for a living, needs to put their health first and find a good balance between work and home life.

Tfue’s story shows how content creation is always changing and how important mental and emotional health are in a field that is growing quickly.
