The esports industry has seen its fair share of ups and downs, and during these challenging times, popular content creator Disguised Toast took a risk by venturing into the esports world.

In a recent video update, he talked about the financial difficulties he’s been having and said that he’s starting a Patreon campaign to help pay for his esports team, which is expected to cost $1 million in its inaugural year. In this blog post, we’ll talk more about Disguised Toast’s esports project and why he decided to ask fans for help.

    Navigating the Financial Challenges

Disguised Toast‘s move into esports was well-received by the community, especially given how hard things are in the industry right now. The content creator’s idea was a breath of fresh air amid several companies downsizing or even closing down due to financial difficulties.

But getting money for the project has been a big problem. Toast is scheduled to spend $1 million in 2023, but it has been hard to find sponsors who are willing to help.

    The Esports Sponsorship Conundrum

Toast talked about the problems with advertising that esports organisations face. He said that many brands are hesitant to invest in the industry because they have been burned in the past.

Even after showing impressive numbers about how many people his platforms reached and how much they were used, he had trouble getting backers. The most common feeling among brands seems to be that they are tired of losing money in the esports world.

Toast says that almost all esports organisations in North America are either broke or on the verge of going bankrupt, which shows that this is a bigger problem.

    The DSG Patreon Campaign

Disguised Toast has gotten more sponsors than ever before in his business. This is to help pay for his esports team and make sure it stays together. Each sponsorship directly helps pay the players’ salaries, giving Toast more time to come up with long-term answers.

He has also started a Patreon campaign where fans can give as little as $5 per month. All of the money raised on Patreon will go straight to the players and staff, giving fans a big say in how well the team does.

    Transparency and Accountability

Disguised Toast is committed to giving his supporters a breakdown of his costs because he knows how important it is to be honest about money. Subscribed members will be able to see the company’s financials, which will help build trust and responsibility.

This openness includes telling people that the players’ pay are low so that costs can be kept in check. Toast wants to show that fan contributions are handled responsibly by being honest about how much money they have.

The Current State and Future Prospects

At the moment, Disguised Toast‘s esports business is based on a League of Legends team that plays in the NACL. In recent changes, the Valorant team left after being kicked out of the Challengers League. This made the organisation rethink its future in that scene.

Toast is still determined to figure out the complicated esports industry and make a good place for his team to grow, despite the problems he has had so far.

Join the discussion below and share your thoughts on Disguised Toast’s esports journey, his Patreon launch, and the challenges faced by esports organizations. We want to hear your opinions on the future of esports and the role fans can play in supporting their favorite teams. Leave a comment and be part of the conversation!
