Hunter “SicK” Mims, a brave professional player, has recently admitted that his “offensive” tweets over the past month were his fault. SicK has said that he will go to therapy with the help of his organisation, Sentinels, in order to change his behaviour and get help.
The arrest of SicK on March 4 was shocking and shocked everyone in the gaming community. It also caused big problems for Sentinels’ roster during the Americas regular season. After he was arrested, there were a lot of position changes and trouble within the team.
Former teammates have urged fans to ignore SicK’s erratic behaviour over the past month. He was arrested again on May 8, and because of what he did, he was also banned from Twitch.
But SicK has now come out to apologise to his fans and say that he plans to get help. When he talked about his recent tweets on June 1, he said that many of them went too far and apologised for any offensive things he said. SicK also said that he was going to delete those posts to fix the problem.
SicK said he was going to start therapy as another sign of his commitment to bettering himself. Sentinels has agreed to pay for the costs, which shows how much the team cares about its players’ health. SicK said, “I’m going to start therapy next week, and Sentinels has agreed to pay for it. I want to get help because I want to change my life in the future.”
SicK said in a humble way that he knows his path to personal growth will be hard and that he may still make mistakes along the way. Still, he thanked his friends and the community for helping him through this hard time.
SicK’s rehabilitation may or may not result in a return to the Sentinels’ main roster, but he could stay with the team as a content producer. In fact, former pros Zombs and Sinatraa are already working for Sentinels as content creators. This shows that the team is happy to support and work with players even after their playing careers are over.
SicK’s choice to face his behaviour and go to therapy shows a commendable commitment to personal growth and self-improvement. SicK is showing others in the game community how to put mental health first and deal with any bad behaviour they may show by taking responsibility for his actions and getting help.
Let’s hope that SicK’s story will lead to good changes and a better future for both him and the gaming community as a whole.
