Lifeweaver, the new hero in Overwatch 2, is giving players a hard time because of what they call his “gigantic” hitbox. Since he came out, players have been talking about whether or not he is a good hero. Some players find it hard to stay alive when they play as him. This has led to a big fight against him, with players blaming their problems on his huge hitbox.
The abilities of Lifeweaver, a unique hero, are geared toward moving allies, making chances, and opposing other heroes. But his hitbox has become a point of contention because the lotus on his back is part of his hitbox and makes it easy for certain heroes to damage him.
Is Lifeweaver’s Hitbox Holding Him Back in Overwatch 2?
When figuring out how long it takes to kill a hero and how hard it is to stay alive in a fight, the size of their hitbox is often ignored. Players have been trying out Lifeweaver’s hitbox and have noticed how easy it is for certain heroes to hurt him. For example, heroes with shotguns like Reaper have an easier time killing heroes with bigger hitboxes, while hitscanners that rely on pinpoint accuracy can miss shots on him in a way that seems random.
Even though the actual hit area for his lotus is very accurate for pinpoint hitscan shots like Ana’s scoped-in gun, things start to get messy when you add in projectiles that are a little more forgiving about what counts as a hit. When thrown in Lifeweaver’s general direction, it’s almost impossible to miss with Hanzo’s arrows, Mei’s icicles, Reinhardt’s Flame Strike, and pretty much any other big projectile.
This has led players to compare Lifeweaver’s hitbox to those of other heroes in the game. For example, one user said, “This is like if Reinhardt could be shot in the hammer,” as a joke to show how strange Lifeweaver’s hitbox seems compared to those of other characters in Overwatch.
But changing Lifeweaver’s look completely to fix his hitbox problems isn’t easy, and the balance team hasn’t decided yet if they will change it or not. Still, players are still hoping that the game’s makers, Blizzard Entertainment, will fix this problem soon.
All in all, Lifeweaver is an excellent addition to Overwatch 2 thanks to his special abilities. Players are having trouble keeping him alive, though, because his hitbox is so big and the lotus on his back counts as a hit. It’s not clear yet if the balance team will change his hitbox, but players are hoping that Blizzard Entertainment will find an answer soon.
